As third-generation strawberry farmers, Kim and Jason Lewis from Cooloola Berries have taken the business to the next level to create an award-winning farmgate-to-plate agri-tourism experience.
One of the greatest achievements has been opening the gates of the family farm, welcoming visitors to pick strawberries fresh from the field, creating special experiences and offering a taste of the region on the ‘Snail of Approval Slow Food’ locally-inspired menu.
The café, artisan store and function venue host regular events along with the growth of value-added products from strawberry cider to jams, sauces, ice creams, freeze dried fruit and more! Cooloola Berries has been nominated for the National Delicious Produce Award by Christine Manfield (2018) and awarded State Delicious produce winners for 2018 & 2016. But it hasn’t always been easy.
