Members are part of a large and diverse international community as well as a smaller local community, the Convivium, of which there are 1,000 with over 80,000 members. Members are also sustainers of the Ark and Presidia projects in defense of biodiversity.

Membership benefits include receiving magazines, newsletters and discounts on Slow Food events on a local, national and international level. Membership lasts one year and is renewable.

Each member can take an active role in determining the character of their Convivium and organizing events or simply join in the activities that interest them.
